EZ-R Stats for Excel is a free Excel Addin which has been tested with Excel 2003 and Windows XP. This AddIn may be used for any purpose, including personal and commercial. The function of the AddIn is to make statistical analysis easier, hence the name ("Easier Stats"). The addin facilitates and supports data analysis by providing numerous tools and charts, leveraging the facilities within MS-Excel.

A companion product, EZ-R Stats™ for Windows (EZSW) streamlines and simplifies the process of analyzing data, thereby helping analysts use their time more effectively. EZSW also enables less experienced users to be more productive without enduring steep learning curves. These objectives are accomplished by:
- Reducing the time required to develop the computer code specifications needed to analyze data,
- Flattening the learning curve for developing effective SQL to query databases and specify procedural code for analyzing flat files
- Lowering the experience level required to develop effective analytical code specifications
- Enabling users to run "canned" database queries, without knowing the intricacies of SQL.
- Using industry standard file formats to simplify data transfer between systems.
EZSW assists you by generating computer code which can then be run to perform the most common analytical functions. Examples include population statistics, frequency distributions, histograms, Benford analysis, highlighting data outliers, gap identification, selecting random samples, searching for "same same same" patterns, and other analytical procedures. Because this processing can be done unattended overnight, it is feasible to analyze large files containing millions of records, even on a PC platform. EZSW is Windows based, and uses a scripting language already familiar to many analysts. All EZS scripts have a file extension of \".ezs\". To leverage EZSW, the analyst specifies the data source to be analyzed, describes the general types of analysis needed and then starts the process of automatically generating the required script language to accomplish these objectives. The generated code can then be stored for use later, or optionally, can be executed immediately, further simplifying the process. All data and processing results are stored in industry standard format. Both data and results may be viewed using standard software such as Microsoft Excel or other commonly available products. The generated scripts also form a basis for further development or modification, if needed, providing "drill down" capabilities. EZSW includes many example scripts and datasets to serve as a reference source or to be modified and used. A companion product, EZSXL, which runs under Microsoft Excel, is also available at no charge.
