MVSP is an inexpensive and easy to use program that performs a number of multivariate numerical analyses useful in many scientific fields. It calculates three basic types of eigenanalysis ordinations: principal components (PCA), principal coordinates (PCO), and correspondence/detrended correspondence analyses (CA/DCA). It can also perform cluster analysis, with twenty three different distance and similarity measures and seven clustering strategies. Constrained clustering, in which the input order is retained in the dendrogram, can be calculated for the zonation of stratigraphic or other sequential data.

Three different diversity indices may be calculated for ecological data. All of these analyses have a number of options you can change to tailor the calculations to suit your particular needs.
