Student Profile of Jacob Duckett
The Analytics Curriculum at the Institute for Statistics Education Is the High Quality, Affordable Program I Was Looking For
After a number of years in the military, Jacob Duckett became an analyst with Radiance Technologies, a government contractor. With a goal of getting his bachelor’s degree, Jacob started several programs at online universities, but found they did not meet his needs. He turned to Statistics.com and Thomas Edison’s joint program for a BS in Data Science Analytics, and found a “big difference in quality” between this joint program and others that he has tried.
Finding himself working with others in his company who are increasingly using analytics, Jacob needed to master the field in order to continue to collaborate and make a positive contribution on the job. The Data Analytics Program at Statistics.com and Thomas Edison was the high quality, affordable program that he was looking for.
“What I’ve learned in the Predictive Analytics courses and in Data Visualization is immediately applicable to my job, and has enabled me to do more challenging and innovative tasks at work. Thanks for putting together such a great program!”
While initially unsure whether a partnership program like this, as opposed to a school that delivered everything internally with its own faculty, was the right choice, he now believes that partnering with an organization like Statistics.com, with deep domain expertise and extensive teaching experience, is the optimum path - both from the student’s perspective and that of the school.
