This course builds on previous knowledge of Rasch theory and the Winsteps software program. It focuses on teaching students to not only analyze data, but present it in a clear and powerful way. Students will learn how to screen data and make judicious data selection and editing decisions. Previous experience using Winsteps and Excel is recommended.

Everett V. Smith Jr. is a Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Smith is responsible for the development of the Ph.D. specialization and M.Ed. programs in Measurement Evaluation Statistics and Assessment (MESA); the online M.Ed. in MESA program; and the online Educational Research Methodology certificate program at UIC.
