Statistics.com Partners With CrowdANALYTIX to Offer New Online Course With Crowdsource Contest As Project

Crowdsourcing, using the power of the crowd to solve problems, has been used for many functions and tasks, including predictive modeling (like the 2009 Netflix Contest). Typically, problems are broadcast to an unknown group of statistical modelers on the Internet, and solutions are sought. Every crowdsourced project harnesses the power of the community to find the most accurate predictive model.

The main goal of Applied Predictive Analytics in partnership with CrowdANALYTIX is to teach users (with a basic knowledge of R programming, predictive analytics and statistics) to learn and apply machine learning techniques in real world case studies. This course follows a hands-on approach for learning and includes participation in a private educational competition hosted by CrowdANALYTIX.

Learn inside tricks and methods – the instructor will serve as a personal guide in this course. Users will get hands-on experience with real-world data and the issues of problem definition and data prep. Then, they will take a defined dataset, develop models, assess them, and submit their best model, to be compared to others’ models.
